Cherry Lane Volunteer Fire Department's Jr. Firefighter Program is a rather new addition to Cherry Lane Volunteer Fire Department.
It is currently open to any young adult age 16-18 who lives in Cherry Lane Volunteer Fire Department's fire district. The purpose of this program is to give young adults who are interested in the fire service a first hand look at the operations of Cherry Lane Volunteer Fire Department.

Jr. Firefighters are allowed to respond to calls, but they must be staged at the command post at all times.
Jr. Firefighters can participate in training and other events sponsored by the fire department.
Jr. Firefighters can ride on apparatus during a training drill or in a parade.
Jr. Firefighters cannot run lights to the scene of an accident or fire.
Jr. Firefighters cannot ride on any of the apparatus enroute to a call.
Jr. Firefighters cannot break the speed limit enroute to a call.
